On Saturday the 15th to Sunday the 16th of 2020 AYCH held a creative jam in Bideford.
Unfortunately, due to Storm Dennis we were low on numbers, as people from adjoining areas struggled to get in. Because of this we decided to change the layout of the weekend and make it into a creative workshop weekend. We showcased different types of technology and gave the young people a chance to play around with it and learn new things from the experts.
Some of the technology included virtual reality (both the Oculus Rift S and the HTC Vive Pro) a 3D printer and vinyl cutter, apps and coding with Arduino, and a workshop in filmmaking. We also visited the Burton museum and art gallery and the local Library. This gave the young people a chance to think about how they would use technology to get the younger generations back into their libraries. Despite the lower turn out we still managed to make sure everyone got the most out of the experience.
