On Saturday 15th December we had our 3rd and final Small Grant Fund allocation of the year.

It was a great day and the young people from the 9th Hub allocated nearly all the remaining £38k of funding. 10 young people from across the County joined together in Okehampton to consider the applications.

It was also (sadly) the last session for one of our long standing 9th Hub members, Aiden Kennedy, who is leaving us to join the Navy. Aiden has worked with us for 3 years and has been an outstanding member of the group – he was also presented with his “Learn” award.

The team have watched him gain skills and grow in confidence during this time – he was instrumental to the successful catering of our Youth Work Works conference in February and in the Summer he also stood up to speak about the project at the VOYC Annual General Meeting.

He was also involved in recently streamlining the application forms for the Small Grant Fund, something that all young people as well as applicants will continue to benefit from.

The team would like to thank Aiden for his commitment to the project and wish him luck for the future sailing the seven seas! We will miss him.
