We are really pleased to be working alongside colleagues from Torbay Community Safety Partnership, South Devon Community Safety Partnership, Youth Intervention Team & the police for the new ‘Turning Corners’ project.
There are 3 interventions that will be taking place with the aim of reducing the risk factors pushing young people into street violence and crime.
1. New transition support for school young people with adverse childhood experiences in year 6 & 7 to help them into secondary school.
2. Engaging activities provided by street-based youth workers to reach young people in the places they hang out to divert them from being drawn into trouble.
3. Parent and carer groups to support the families of those at risk of being caught up in street violence and crime.
