Welcome to Rushbrook!
Rushbrook Youth Space is situated in the historic town of Totnes. We want to welcome all young people to this centre and work hard to create a space where everyone can express who they are, without fear of being judged. The centre is one of the newest in the county with a purpose-built recording studio and band rehearsal room!
We have a variety of different sessions that cater to different age groups. We even have volunteering opportunities within our young volunteer programme and our radio show (Radio Rush) which happens here at Rushbrook. We aim to create a sense of fun and enjoyment while keeping true to the educational value youth work has always brought to its communities.

The youth workers that work on a Weds are usually: Karen, Simon & Asher. Our young volunteers are great in this session and are always on hand to support you as well as participate with you – feedback from the young people and young volunteers is that this session is so much FUN…. please come and see for yourself… the first session is free and £1 thereafter, snacks and drinks are available for you to buy..
Thursday’s 6:30 – 8:30PM

Our newest session welcomes young people from Primary Schools into our youth space here at Rushbrook. We’re running an exciting programme of activities throughout the term, including pizza making, the ‘Great Rushbrook Bake Off’, Lazer-tag and our very own Japanese Game Show!
Tuesday’s 6:30 – 9PM
For those in years 8, 9 & 10! We provide a range of activities aimed to appeal to a wide range of young people in the community: including table tennis, pool, music recording, DJing, dodgeball, arts, crafts, as well as improvised activities inspired and thought up by the club members.
As well as fun activities we also spend time listening and talking to the young people who come – we feel it is important for young people to feel valued and part of the youth club. Through doing this we are able to provide information, advice and guidance on a range of concerns young people have such as support with exam stress, information on mental health and well-being, healthy eating, as well as sexual health and relationship support.
Radio Rush Radio Project
Radio Rush Radio Show Project (open to all ages but contact Karen Joseph first) – Alternate Tuesdays 3.30 – 5.30pm (Please see calendar for details)
Radio Rush has just recorded its first ever radio podcast; this has been something we have been working on over the past term and has been a huge learning experience for young people. Not only have they learnt to use the technology involved in producing the podcast, they have become more confident in working as part of a team and put together a show that was inclusive to all tastes.
“Mat is very caring and very welcoming and always has a smile on his face and is always up for a laugh. Tom is very bubbly and is also very arty and creative and Danny is a genius – she’s always one to have a laugh with. She is very down to earth. ”
“If you ever a helping hand or any advice you can go to any youth workers, they are all caring and down to earth. At Rushbrook the youths that come in can express themselves creatively and be the individuals they may not be able to be elsewhere”
I just wanted to say how impressed we are with the new year 6 youth club at rushbrook. Our son tried it out a couple of weeks ago and invited all his friends to come along this week, who also all loved it!
“Karen’s so bubbly and always has a smile on her face even when she has had a rough day and Simon is really good at giving advice, if you ever have a problem he will always be there to listen”
