What’s On

Due to Lockdown 2.0 we are unfortunately having to close our face to face open access youth sessions. But do sign up to one of our zoom sessions throughout the week and add us on social media. Where we will be posting weekly activities and questions for young people to engage in.

Thank you!

Welcome to Rushbrook!

Rushbrook Youth Space is situated in the historic town of Totnes. We want to welcome all young people to this centre and work hard to create a space where everyone can express who they are, without fear of being judged. The centre is a great space, with a pool table, kitchen and coffee bar and a purpose-built recording studio and band rehearsal room.

We have a variety of different sessions that cater to different age groups from Year 6 to Year 11. We even have volunteering opportunities within our young volunteer programme. We aim to create a sense of fun and enjoyment while keeping true to the educational value youth work has always brought to its communities.

Our Open Access Sessions (Currently Running Sessions Online, see our social media for more info)

Tuesdays’s 6:30 – 8:30PM

£1 Entry

This is a session for young people in years 6 & 7 – aged 10 to 12 years old.

This session welcomes young people from Primary Schools into our youth space where we have a dedicated, creative team of youth workers and volunteers making the sessions a fun and vibrant learning environment. We offer information, advice, and support on a range of concerns – especially as they approach secondary school. This is a particularly good session for ‘networking’ and integrating with high school pupils in the year above – making the experience less daunting!

Wednesday’s 6:30 – 8:30PM

50p Entry

This is our session for years 9, 10 and 11. We run activities like arts / crafts, music sessions, pool and table tennis competitions, dancing and other fun competitions. We have a regular hair and nail session (see our Instagram) and a regular Rushbrook Bake Off with prizes and loads more!

We provide a range of activities aimed to appeal to a wide range of young people in the community: including table tennis, pool, music recording, DJing, dodgeball, arts, crafts, as well as improvised activities inspired and thought up by the club members.

As well as fun activities we also spend time listening and talking to the young people who come – we feel it is important for young people to feel valued and part of the youth club. Through doing this we are able to provide information, advice and guidance on a range of concerns young people have such as support with exam stress, information on mental health and well-being, healthy eating, as well as sexual health and relationship support.

The first session is free and 50p thereafter, snacks and drinks are available for you to buy..

I just wanted to say how impressed we are with the new year 6 youth club at rushbrook. Our son tried it out a couple of weeks ago and invited all his friends to come along this week, who also all loved it!
